A little bit more about our wonderful Kindergarten Program:

Each child proceeds at his/her own academic level in preparation for reading. Initial consonant sounds are stressed in order for the child to be able to make letter-sound associations. Basic sight words are introduced and enhanced through daily reciting of poems, chants, etc.

Children write in their own special Journals and they incorporate the basic sight words and conventional spelling! This process enforces the Dolce word list, sound association and writing techniques. They are taught to hold a pencil correctly and hence getting their fine motor skills down more precisely.

Centers are modeled around the themes for the week/month. Math is performed with Individualized instruction, and skills are introduced according to their level of ability (addition/subtraction/patterning/sorting/one to one correspondence, counting to 100)

While all this wonderful learning is going on, the Teacher is Assessing continuously so that the child can be challenged or given that extra special attention when needed!

Thank you for taking the time to read about your child's specific schedule!
